http://gambaswiki.org/bugtracker/edit?object=BUG.3115&from=L21haW4- Comment #12 by Benoît MINISINI: Normally you must create another ticket when you talk about another problem. It's not a forum, it's a bugtracker, and it makes things more difficult if inside one ticket people talk about different problems. In other words: one ticket = one problem, and one problem = one ticket. Otherwise, I just compiled the master on a Ubuntu 24.04 VM, and the Gambas IDE icon works as expected, or almost. Here is what happens exactly: - When you run 'sudo make install', the IDE is compiled, and a 'gambas3.desktop' file is created inside '/usr/share/applications'. - Once this file is created, the Gambas 3 IDE icon appears in the Ubuntu application menu. - Then you just have to attach the icon to the dask, and it will disappear from the application menu, and appear in the dash. - If you run the Gambas 3 IDE, a 'gambas3.desktop' temporary file is creates inside '~/.local/share/applications'. This is where the behaviour is stupid, as this file should not be created as it already exists globally. - This temporary desktop file overrides the global one, and so the icon will flicker in the dash, and disappear when you quit the IDE. Because when you quit the IDE, the temporary desktop file is removed. But the global one is still there, and so you will find the Gambas 3 icon back in the Ubuntu application menu. ----[ Gambas bugtracker-list is hosted by https://www.hostsharing.net ]----
