okay after you said that i thought i should investigate the old "it's probably theme related" scenario.

So my findings are...

My gtk appearance controls were set to Adwaita  (light) and this gives the hard to see scrollbar. it seems all light themes are like this.

If i set it as Adwaita dark, then scrollbar looks okay (is brighter)

Also I just discovered that if the terminal program is started while my theme is Adwaita and i switch while it's running to a dark theme then the color switches okay.
But if i run the program in dark theme then switch to light the terminal text is no longer visible. (this could be a different bug topic tough)

So i would assume you are using a dark theme on your desktop and that's why you have no problem seeing the scrollbar.

PS. I'm using the gb.form.terminal component test form.
the snapshot shows Breeze theme (scrollbar button is just above the mouse)
