I struggle finding a good way of drawing the background of included highlightings (i.e. the code / javascript / css included in the web page).

Just painting another background color may be mixed up with the selection color.

This is why I used strip: to clearly see the difference with other editor backgrounds. Alas as you noticed it reduces readability.

Any idea is welcome!
