Not everything needs a desktop file to start with, like libraries.
The choices are made in the CSoftware.class

When installing from Gambas Farm it's always applications and it will mostly be always applications, so that seems to be the smartest default to set.
When it comes to either integer property with constants or string I suggest follow the general approach used in DesbktopFile.class for these matters.
