I did some further investigation into this matter (see screenshots).
It seems to come down to DesktopFile.class in component gb.desktop lacking Application property.

I checked:

https://specifications.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/recognized-keys.html (see second screenshot)

Once property is in place the fix in the CSoftware.class in gambas3 IDE source should be easy.
