The TabPanel looks very different. I tried it and found that it doesn't fit into "corporate" GTK-GUI-designs - and particularly not into my GTK-app. We would further loose a classic control which has done a good job for many years. It should further be clear, that the present bug was not imposed/caused by GTK+. So I hope that you don't give it up.
