Sorry, I told rubbish too: you have to set the Transparent property of the window to TRUE, as soon as you want to set a transparent color to the window background.

Because the window manager uses two different types of windows for that, and so he must be told that a window want to have some transparency, otherwise everything is drawn opaque whatever color you use.
