I confirm that the Transparent property does not work with GTK+3.

This property is a X11 trick that is not really useful anymore, as you can have the same effect 
by setting the window background color to 'Color.Transparent'.

It is useful if the window manager does not provide a composition manager, i.e. if it cannot handle color opacity.
