1) 'gb.gui' is just a component chooser. The two GUI components are 'gb.gtk3' and 'gb.qt5' (or 'gb.qt6' for an up-to-date system).

2) 'Drag.Data' checks the contents of the clipboard (yes, dnd uses the clipboard), and read it according to the detected type (just image or text). Apparently there is a unidentified problem with it in 'gb.gtk(3)'. Anyway, it's not efficient at all. To check if there is an image, do what Bruce told you.

3) Picture.Save() supports some image formats depending on the toolkit in use. Usually the image formats supported are dynamic. By default, QT5 does not support 'ico' format, but may support it using a plugin that may or may not be installed on your system. Same system with GTK+3: another format may be supported by "your" QT5, but not by "your" GTK+3. 'jpeg' and 'png' are apparently always supported.
