I had no problem when replacing all in the current file.

I worked around the problem by replacing all in the individual files one at a time.

I also found some times it works.

I'm leaning towards it's okay if the results are just in the .class/.module files but not if in .form files.

I find if i try to do search/replace and the text is also a Control name in the form designer it locks.

that's my best guess after doing some tests.
