hmm , actually using xterm-mono makes dialog render very very badly.

other terminals (i tried mate-terminal and konsole) just render the dialog in black and white but TerminalView is producing ascii garbage.

possibly it's unrelated though. sorry i will add another bug to tracker if needed.
